The fundamentals are critical to fly fishing. To be successful you must be able to present a nymph, dry fly, wet fly or streamer to the fish naturally. On stream instruction is perhaps the most dynamic way to learn. The tactics and techniques that I have learned and continue to master from Joe Humphreys are what he describes as “viable”, “golden” and “keys to your kingdom”. Moreover, they are traditional and have stood the test of time. Whether-or-not you are a beginner, novice or experienced fisherman, I can provide valuable insights into the fundamentals that will help you become a more complete angler. Lessons on water temperatures, geology and entomology are also very important, particularly when fishing Eastern Connecticut. Finally, even though I cannot always guarantee success, I will provide a valuable learning experience.
